Girls Vs Women..

Girls want to control the man in their life.
Grown women know that if he’s truly hers, he doesn’t need controlling.

Girls check you for not calling them.
Grown women are too busy to realize you hadn’t.

Girls are afraid to be alone.
Grown women revel in it-using it as a time for personal growth.

Girls ignore the good guys.
Grown women ignore the bad guys.

Girls make you come home.
Grown women make you want to come home.

Girls leave their schedule wide-open and wait for a guy to call and make plans.
Grown women make their own plans and nicely tell the guy to get in where he fits.

Girls worry about not being pretty and/or good enough for their man.
Grown women know that they are pretty and/or good enough for any man.

Girls try to monopolize all their man’s time ( i.e., don’t want him hanging with his friends).
Grown women realize that a little’ bit of space makes the ‘together time’ even more special-and goes to kick it with her own friends.

Girls think a guy crying is weak.
Grown women offer their shoulder and a tissue.

Girls want to be spoiled and ‘tell’ their man so.
Grown women ‘show’ him and make him comfortable enough to reciprocate without fear of losing his ‘manhood’.

Girls get hurt by one man and make all men pay for it.
Grown women know that was just one man.

Girls fall in love and chase aimlessly after the object of their affection, ignoring all ‘signs’.
Grown women know that sometimes the one you love, don’t always love you back-and move on, without bitterness.

Girls will read this and get an attitude.
Grown women will read this and pass it on to other Grown women and their male friends.

The Dreaded 2 Wheel Ride

The documentary talks about the Bodaboda motorbike around Korogocho area and Kariobangi. It highlights some of the effects it has had in the lives of the people living around the areas. It mainly focuses on the negative effects because it has been affecting the community widely. The Bodabodas have been very important in the transport industry around the area. It plays a very big role in helping people move from one place to another in the shortest time possible to their destinations. However, the bodabodas have also been known to cause very many fatal accidents in the society. This is because of their reckless driving, lack of bumps where there is need of one and many other issues concerned. This in turn raises awareness of a way of eliminating this menace out of the region.

The affected ones share their experiences and pass their advice in this film. The film also lets doctors from a clinic who give the statistics of the patients coming in from Bodaboda accidents.

Land Pollution

Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into a natural environment that causes instaility, disorer, harm or discomfort o the ecosystem. land pollution may be caused by deliberaely or intentionally disposingwastes which may later grow up to a big umping site. This is also caused by disposal of waste along the road which has the effect of reducing the size of the road and may also spread diseases to the people living around the area.
Burning of inorganic substances sch as plastic bags reduces the performance of the land discouraging farming activities hence causing food shortages.
Burrying of electronic materials such as, computers and already used radioactive substances has alot of effects on human being. This may also cause land infatility.
The other effect on land pollution may be the use of too much fertilizer as well as acidic rain caused by accumulation of toxic fumes in the atmosphere.
To prevent all these effects free or bare land should e used effectively y either plantig of trees, farming and rearig of cattle. The government should also come up with laws that prevent any activity that may result to land pollution.

The Unknown Dimension

Like the source of the rivers been forest slum area has proved to be the source of the most prospering individual in the society. Though its hard to accept the final outcome it is the naked truth. Walking through the shanty streets in the slum one stop to think if a human being can survive in the area. Pose and think of this do people in the slum live or survive?
I took a deep thinking into the issue and concluded that people in the slum area survive as compared to living. One will only understand this when one try to culculate the daily activities as well as the budget of living to that of an ideal living standard. For instance a person in the slum can feed on as little as ksh 50 a day.
They say that when challenges seems to be incresing their solution lies in the middle of the so conflict. One can argue that this is what has motivated the people living in the slum area to work hard for their succes.
In order to understand why the slum is the source of prosperity one should understand the challenges in the slum therefore one will understand why those who rise to take ledership positions lead in transparency and of course maintaining the positions integrity this is because they understand the suffering of common citizens.
It is easy to understand that when one gets into a junction one has to think before engaging in the action this has served as the philosophy to many inhabitants of the slum as the area poses alot of the challenges to the inhabitants yet they endure. The most interesting thing to note is that it is only in the slum that still people view that they are community, that is they are concerned with the welfare of the others as they need eachother for what they dont have and for advice as well.
If census is to be done the population in the slum area is more than important in the exercise also a good leader is that who comes from the slum area as this is an area with exesive competion and therefore is their ideas that will see them through.
If given a chance to redifine the slum one will conclude that the slum is the platform for training futures important persons.

Boniface a ten years old boy from Kisumu Ndoga in korogocho has learnt of his talent at a tender age, he spends most of his free time practicing skating to improve on his talent. He is a class one and has a dream of becoming a pilot when he grows up. He is just an example of many children with talents and dreams in Koch who have not gotten the chance of realizing their talents and dreams for the future.

With the life situation in Koch there are many challenges facing children like him, one of the challenges that the children face is that they have too much time for themselves and managing it becomes a problem. This makes them to end up in the streets either collecting scrap metals to sell or in the video show rooms watching movies there.

Many organizations have come up to help these children to learn how to manage their time by giving them something to do.  They help the kids to realize what they can do and channel them in that direction, so that when they grow up they can have a skill or something that they are good at.

Hope Raisers skating club is one of the organizations that offer a platform for kid and young people to discover themselves and discover their potentials and talents through skating.  A cording to Daniel the couch and founder  he says that this is just a way of opening their minds to a wider world and to make them have dreams and achieve them, to show them that it is possible for them to become whatever they dream of becoming  in their future lives.

The organization helps the children to understand the value of education, to love education and know that it is part of their way of attaining their dreams.

The Cry of The Innocent

Something really troubles me from the bottom of my heart whenever I express my emotions and feelings towards these mere victims of HIV/AIDS and those living in Poverty. It was neither mission nor my will for disaster to conquer our families leaving young children orphaned and who later find their way to the Streets Of The Ghetto wondering all over at least to find something to sustain their basic needs like food, shelter which they hardly find.

Many are the times I nurtured suicidal deaths when I watched these young children wearing ragged clothes and almost half naked struggling for themselves in order to put a meal on their stomach. Truly! A misfortune never comes and it does, it’s occasionally. It was late in the evening when I popped into the streets and got many of the street children at a place they termed as a base and that they call home. It was unbelievable, the air within their abode was dusty and full of stench of rubbish. When I entered into a tiny polythene room where they used to spend their nights and the blankets were clinking with water and the flour was wet such that no Creature could admire to sleep in such a place, not even a pig. I gave them pieces of advice as they looked at me despairingly with empty stomach. I wished I had the capability to assist them but unfortunately it was contrary.

The answers they gave me on their life:

We spend most of our time at dump sites where they are in search of the food remains and scrap metals that they sell to scrap dealers to get some little amount that they use it to buy glue that they usually take glue just to forget their past and what they go through, horribly it’s a pity. The scraps and recycled plastics cost KHS.13 A Kilogram.
I urge Parents and leaders to assist in getting rid of this traumatic disease which leaves dreams and goals reduced into ashes and children grow responsible and wanted people in the future.
